About Ashanti
Like Ja Rule, Ashanti was first noticed by Murder Inc.'s Irv Gotti. It was the turning point in her career, which very quickly led to record album sales and a numerous awards. Duets, among them one with Ja Rule, another with Fat Joe, helped Ashanti establish her presence on the R&B; and hip-hop scenes as well as her singing capabilities. Gotti, the New York producer, is not the only big name in hip-hop that is attached to that of Ashanti's, Nelly being the other, as they have been dating since 2003.
