Static-X was formed as a duo, which comprised vocalist/guitarist Wayne Static from Michigan and drummer Ken Jay from Illinois. As soon as the two musicians got acquainted they went to California to form a band. Later such musicians as Koichi Fukada (guitarist and programmer) and Tony Campos (bassist) joined the band.
