The pop/rock band called the Violettes was founded in Minneapolis by such musicians as Sarah Khan (vocals and keyboards), Mark Ilaug (guitar), Scott Haughawout (vocals and drums), John Ancell (bass) in the early 2000's. The same lineup also performed under the title Softshow at the same time. The Violettes issued their first full-length eponymous album in 2004.
